Wed I hit the gym. For the first time I did my cicuit workout before my cardio. It was nice because it was a change, but other than that no big difference.
Thurs I skipped the gym and took Karate with my daughter. She was hoping to take a belt test this month but she missed to much over the summer to be invited to test.
I’m reading “Outliers” right now. Good book so far. Talks about what makes an exceptional person - smarts, abilities, opportunities, timing, etc.
Alice PR’ed her 5k today. Broke 24 mins. First JV girl from her school to cross the finish, 11th overall. Unfortuantely, the top 10 got ribbons, so she missed out on that. But I hope she is focusing on the PR like I am.
I got “The 30 minute fitness solution: a 4-step plan for women of all ages” from the library today. I haven’t cracked it open yet, but I’ll keep you posted.
Tonight’s yummy, fast, filling dinner: mostaccioli. Pasta, red sauce, mozzerella cheese, we add ground beef — I made it last night and it sat in the fridge and baked it up tonight. Yum! Also good with mushrooms & brocolli added.
Treadmill + eliptical for 22 mins.
Step ups, lunges, squats, plie squats - with hand weights of 7-10 lbs. Tricep kick backs @ 7lbs. 15 pushups, maybe 12, my arms were tired from going up and down with all the squats and I meant to do a 2nd set but forgot. Side taps, side plank with 7 lb, plank on one foot 30 sec each side. Oblique crunches on ball with one leg on the wall. Back reverse crunch on ball to ease the delicate spine
Also those ab exercises where you lie on your back and hold one hand weight and tap it to your opposite foot as your hand and foot both come up. ALSO holding a med ball, go from lying down to sitting straight up with ball overhead.
I got upset today because my daughter said that while we were at her friend’s house the other girl told my dauhter she had thrown up that day and twice before over the weekend. If that is the case, PLEASE do NOT invite my child to your house!! Argh!!!
Took Wendy shopping for dress shoes so she can dance at the party on Sat and she found black patent ballet flats at Payless for $16 and I had a 20% off coupon. That worked out well. We hit the library but skipped karate because it is testing night and Wendy missed too many summer lessons to be able to test.

Wore my YogaPaws to DD2’s karate class tonight and brought my headphones. Did Yogadownload’s Yoga For Runners series #1 for 30 mins, skipped the meditation at the end so I could extend the workout with some side planks, cobblers pose, pushups, and stretching.
For the last 20 mins of class I started reading “The Seven Habits of Highly Effective teens”. The chapter on creating a personal mission statement and determining your goals is really great.
