You see, that’s a joke, because I’m not running a marathon. I’m running a 5k. But if you saw my suitcase right now you’d swear otherwise.
My running shoes – in plastic, my special cozy socks, shorts, a just in case long sleeve shirt, a just in case tank top, a fleece vest and ear warmer (but it will probably be 58 degrees). Thong panties that wick away sweat (they rock, check out nitesweatz.com). My MP3 charged and synced. Cold, full, stainless steel water bottle. Home baked granola bars, fruit leather, banana, pretzels. Paperwork for me, paperwork for my daughter, Disney passes, event map. Extra safety pins for our bib numbers. My awesome Freya sports bra. My husband’s Garmin. Camera & video camera.
I’m excited and nervous and staying hydrated. I went to 8:30am core conditioning class so my abs will be tight. I won’t eat fatty dairy, red meat or beans today. And I will try to fall asleep before 10pm. But not before setting my cell alarm, my husband’s cell alarm, and the hotel alarm
I do tend to over prepare when traveling. But when I rock the 5k tomorrow, it will all be worth it!
Tomorrow is the run, that night is my daughter’s bday party, and the next day is my husband’s birthday. Busy weekend!
