On 6/13 I was a lazy @$$

I can’t remember the last time I spent a day sitting around doing nothing (while prefectly healthy). But my husband ran 10 miles early in the AM Saturday, showered, crawled back in bed with me, and we nodded in and out of sleep for a couple more hours. We got out of bed simply to transfer to the living room sofa to watch a movie together. Talk about lazy! But I think we needed it. Plus, the kids come back in town soon so sleeping late may be impossible.

Around 11:46 PM I said, “I haven’t done any working out today and today is almost over. And it’s Juneathon!” So I dropped to the floor for 24 pushups and 60 squats. That was all the working out I did Saturday. Unless you count Wii bowling and tennis, but I don’t.

Now it’s Sunday. I made up for yesterday’s laziness by weeding and gardening in the sun today, and then scrubbing my tub afterwards. Not that I felt like I HAD to make up for a lazy day – it just worked out that way. So I’ll take an hour of squating to plant and pull weeds in my garden as today’s workout. But yoga may very well come this evening. The good news is I bought a new tomato plant so I may have homegrown beauties in 2 months. And my husband bought a jalapeno plant. If you need any organic rosemary, our rosemary plant is now a rosemary BUSH, so there is plenty to share. You can even use it as skewers when you grill and infuse your grill with the flavor of rosemary. Yum!

I’m going to try karate the next 2 weeks. I keep saying I will, but now my daughter’s sensei asked me to because they only had 2 kids there last week. I can be an emergency partner for aikido sticks.

  1. I was telling myself that is silly to feel lazy when here it’s Juneathon and I’ve been doing some type of exercise every day for 2 weeks!

  2. i love those kinds of days :) well, most days anyway. some times i have a war in my head about wanting to be lazy but also wanting to go run. i can’t say running wins more than 1/2 the time…

  3. I love lazy days…they are so few are between that they are a nice treat-sometimes it does make you feel guilty but you really shouldn’t! have fun with the kids when they get back to town!
