Week 3, run 1

I ran with my daughter today at 1pm:
Eight-minute warmup walk, then:
Run 5 minutes at her pace (to the 1/2 mile mark)
Walk 3 minutes
Run 5 minutes
Walk 3 minutes
Run 5 minutes (but I ran about 4 minutes, then walked 1 min, then tried to run another minute but at 40 seconds I go to the street light which marks the walk home. As we waited to cross the street I started feeling nauseous, so I guess that means I pushed it more than usual.)

Then we walked home.

2.72 miles in 44 minutes – but that includes the walking and waiting at street corners and stuff.

Neck pain is gone!

Week 2, run 3

My neck is now 90% better (from the pain this past weekend) and I swear after running 2 wks I see a difference in my obliques and quads already. Maybe it’s time for some photos and measurements – but not now because I am at the office ๐Ÿ™‚ That would be weird!

Today was my first cold run. “Cold” is a relative term, of course. I am in Florida and it was below 50-degrees. I borrowed an Under Armour long sleeve shirt from my husband. I had one of those fuzzy things around my ears and wished I had not left my gloves in the car. I could see exhaust coming out of cars around me, but luckily I could not see my breath. It’s supposed to be colder tomorrow, but that’s not a run day for me.

This is not me, but it is where I ran today:

Today’s 8:09am run:

Brisk five-minute warmup walk (Jessica Simpson “A Public Affair” and Xtina Aguilera’s Ain’t No Other Man)
Run 3 minutes (Robyn’s Be Mine!)
Walk 2 minutes
Run 5 minutes
Walk 2.5 minutes
Run 3.5 minutes
Walk 90 seconds
Run 5 minutes (this got tough, so when I made my turn around to head back to the car I walked the turn, approx 4 seconds)
Walk back to car.

Approx 2.3 miles

Week 2, run 2

Yesterday I registered for the Disney Princess 5k! Now I can’t go anywhere but up in my training or I’ll look like a fool on my home turf of EPCOT on March 7th, which I refuse to do!

Today’s run:

Brisk five-minute warmup walk
Run 3 minutes (Angels and Airwaves “The Adventure”)
Walk 90 seconds
Run 5 minutes (Rockstar by Nickelback and Run to You by Bryan Adams)
Walk 2-1/2 minutes
Run 3 minutes (Britney Spears “Piece of Me”)
Walk 90 seconds
Run 5 minutes (this got tough, so I made myself reach the truck up ahead. Between me and the truck was a fire hydrant, and I told myself I would NOT stop running at the fire hydrant. In fact I would run by and stick my tongue out at the fire hydrant and make it to the truck. and I did!) ๐Ÿ˜›
Walk back to car.

Approx 2.3 miles

I’ve been tracking my distance here: http://www.usatf.org/routes/mapย The USA Track and Field Website. I don’t really like Log My Run.
